I finally understood one parody. Mr Shin, a parody of Crayon Shin Chan. Basically the joke being that instead of a kid going to kindergarten (which is the very simple premise of CSC yet it has hundreds of episodes) it's an adult.

i'm amazed that the animation does vary a lot between milk and the other anime characters so much.

This episode was better....but not by much.

Still, I watch. Entranced. Bewildered.

The Mr. Shin bit was pretty funny, as were some of the sessions with drunken fish (loved that octopus). I must say this was another step up, it's still not outrageously funny but it's getting better. I must reiterate, this show would've been great in an 11-minute format. It can't be considered much faster paced in Japan if this is a direct translation.

The live action parts were funny, and the parts where Milk was counseling the fish were enjoyable. Everything else wasn't bad, but not memorable. I'd give it a C.

OT-Does anyone else think that the Oblongs on tonight was 10x funnier than all of SMC so far? Just checking.

The Mr. Shin segment was pretty funny, and the president's impersonation of Bruce Lee was simply hilarious. The rest of the episode was rather meh-ish, not as bad as the last two, but still....

More C- material. But it gets credit for not putting me to sleep, and I was pretty tired, but maybe I just stayed up to see AS Saturday kicking AS Sunday's ass again.
