Last time I posted on here was last December, so I haven’t been entirely caught up to date with everything going on. I’m not sure if I missed anything, but Kenny The Shark apparently aired on Discovery Family which is great. And some more cartoons that have ended are having reruns on Discovery...
I’d argue that Hasbro actually does, but I just can’t see them wanting anything to do with Discovery anymore. I know a few Hasbro shows air, but it’s not in the same caliber as Hasbro’s other ventures. For example, Netflix is getting two new Hasbro commissions. One based on their Magic the...
Most of the Hasbro Studios programming has been either canceled or put on indefinite hiatus, though? And this was before they purchased EntertainmentOne, but after they acquired the Power Rangers licensing and IP. I see them gearing up more content this year, considering who they own, and...
That’s interesting. Thank you for posting this. I’m still confused as to what Hasbro gains from owning EntertainmentOne—besides Peppa Pig which is a success and extremely profitable in terms of toy and media revenue. But then I think of Hasbro’s deal with Paramount, to produce movies, and wonder...
I didn’t even know Mattel planned on releasing Masters of the Universe collectible figures. But makes sense that they’ll tap into the older market. I’ll have to keep my eye open for that.
I can see why Hasbro is hesitant to do anything with G.I. Joe, compared to Transformers and My Little Pony...
They’ll probably wait first, maybe release some toys alongside the movie just to verify that there’s enough demand. I love the G.I. Joe franchise, and honestly there is much possibility for the brand to expand beyond just what they originally have.
Hasn’t the Star Wars license for Hasbro dipped...
In 2009, Hasbro announced a joint venture with Discovery communication to launch the Hub in 10/10/2010. Sadly, the network only lasted roughly four years and was rebranded in October 2014. Most of their shows were moved to other avenues, like Cartoon Network or YouTube (with Hanazuki). Still...

Three seasons is better than no seasons, though I did wish Dan Vs. garnered more exposure. Besides Transformers Prime, this show really brought me to the Hub. While I never personally got into My Little Pony, thankfully so, I was able to enjoy the other Hub programming offered around that time.
Who knows, though. Since Hasbro has recently acquired Entertainment One and Saban’s Power Rangers, they now have enough content and toys to promote either a new network or a streaming app. If Hasbro stopped trying with media in general, then yeah. I wouldn’t even consider that a resurgence would...
I ended up watching the first season yesterday, and finished it today. Honestly, asides from how fast of a pacing the show is, it definitely has grown on me. I think the wacky and convoluted side plots are genuinely funny. I can't wait for season 2.
Honestly, after watching Discovery Family for a few hours today, I'm surprised how much the channel changed since it's rebranding back in 2014. I was legitimately surprised that if Cake Boss isn't running a marathon of episodes, then it's crammed with other live action shows. Same thing applies...
I wouldn't be surprised, but I honestly hope that doesn't happen. I mean, Disney Channel moved the majority of their cartoons to Disney XD, so who knows. But, yeah we're going to see way more live action shows.
I'm still sad that the Hub Network was replaced with Discovery Family, but it was nice while it lasted. You're right about Discovery Family being dead, in a way. The programming is not consistent with what was promised a few years back, when the Hub was transitioning toward its new branding...
