New episodes of Tower Prep overall averaged below 1 million viewers, significantly lower than even acquired programming, and Dini's original excuse was that Adventure Time's success convinced them to stick to cartoons, no reason to believe Dini there.
I shared what Bruce Timm said about Conroy on some subreddits, and after the news made it to some of the popular Twitter entertainment accounts, IGN has updated their story but still maintains that he has a role in COIE.
Yes, that's why I said they helped spread it, without clarifying that he wasn't talking about any superhero show with that rant, or engaging with the slightest fact checking regarding YJ's and TP's viewership numbers or actually asking anybody who actually worked on YJ or from CN to comment...
They also helped spread the "Cartoon Network and Warner Bros cancelled shows because too many girls were watching" myth so I can believe it, they aren't like Deadline or Variety.
This was actually a very popular opinion on the internet. A lot of people weren't interested in a faithful adaptation of the comic, but wanted the ultimate dc animation crossover, just look at the top comments here;
and here;
Not exactly new information, but it seems like the previous regime intended for 10-movie arcs with their own creative team to be the new norm;
"They didn't want to go, the stretches of previous animated universes [with] 20 movies. They felt that was too long, so I was already with DC, Jim Lee...
They talked about having cameos from other properties early on, mentioned clashing art styles, and there could be one or two characters from other animated universes in part 2;
youtube.com/watch?v=tOI2GRiSrfc
They discuss having to fast-track Crisis;
Jim: You know, as we’ve been doing these...
Another to consider is that those other properties had their own creative teams, would you really want to mess with someone else's work? Especially the DCAU where they don't want to revisit it themselves.
Anybody know if this could be accurate?
BEAST BOY: LONE WOLF, SHOWING ON CARTOON NETWORK STARTING APRIL 3, 2024
If you’re looking for a Teen Titans stand-alone cartoon, look no further. This series, which will include 10 episodes, is based on the book Teen Titans: Beast Boy by Kami Garcia and...
This is just hearsay but Nolan North supposedly told a fan that he and Khary are trying to work with an Atlanta based animation studio to bring the show back but they need to get WB/DC on board.
Yeah I'm only expecting the two universes introduced in the Tommorowverse films plus the DCAMU, everything else is mostly cameos unless its relevant to the story.
Does this mean "sophomore year" is cancelled?
I wonder if this is happening because they have other plans for Spider-man. They like to keep in line with the movies and Tom Holland's Spider-man isn't a high schooler anymore, it would make sense if they focus on an older Peter.
You could say he wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't inquire at all. I believe Feige himself has stated he's been courted before by people telling him that superhero movies are a fad and he should come work for them instead.
From what I've read, WB was already $17 billion in debt before the disastrous AOL merger took place. AT&T was also a big disaster. Zaslav wouldn't be in charge in the first place if it wasn't for at least several decades of poor decision making.
When was the last time CN greenlit anything like this? The channel's viewership numbers are just a small fraction of what they were when they decided to move on from high budget action cartoons in the early 2010's.
I assume those shows all got 20-episode orders that got split into 2 "seasons," if those HQ episode titles are real, they were likely conceived before season 3 came out. Different situation for YJ as 26 episodes are a single season.
There were times when he was more active Twitter, though I...
I find it interesting that Greg hasn't tweeted since August 1st but has still been answering questions on his site. I wonder if he knows the show's fate.
I think the Pokemon themselves are the main draw anyways and the merchandise would still sell. I don't see it as a huge risk since like you said, the audience changes every few years and I don't know if kids specifically have affinity for the human characters, so much as they do for the Pokemon...
The games can sell over 20 million copies without having Ash in them, so they aren't in any danger of suffering some financial loss if they end the character's story. While the show doesn't have much continuity to begin with, it would make things easier on the staff to have a blank slate.
I wonder what this means for DC Animated shows like Young Justice, and the new Batman, Superman and Legion shows. There wouldn't really be a proper home for them anywhere.
Though this does explain why Batgirl won't be moved to HBO Max; because it won't even exist.
Clarification of what we assumed;
"Well, like we said, in the panel, it follows the pattern that you see in [Captain America:] Civil War," Winderbaum said of the animated Spider-Man series. "Down to Peter getting the broken Blu-ray player from the trash and he walks into his department for the...
