Yes you’ve heard that correctly, as per Variety, Disney will release a new remake of one of their craziest films.

As per Variety, it will star Rachel Zegler as the main girl, Amy Schumer as the main villain and Matt Rife as the main lover. It will be directed by Rachel Lambert and written by Greta Gerwig. Exact plot details are not known as of yet, but when asked, Rachel had this to say:

“The original Three Caballeros movie came out in 1945, and evidently so. There’s a big focus on a bird going gaga over a woman in the original and I’m all like OK, that’s weird. WEIRD. So we didn’t do that. The woman won’t get chase by Donald now, they won’t. Instead, it will focus on a Colombian woman becoming more of a strong independent woman. All of Donald, Jose and Panchito’s scenes could get cut, who knows. You just have to wait till 2029 to find out.”

As Rachel says, the movie is scheduled to be released on March 25, 2029. From the sound of it, it seems to be quite fun! More details here: https://variety.com/2024/film/news/Disney-announces-new-Caballeros-remake-with-Rachel-Zegler-1235951056/amp/

Disney having made so many live-action versions of animated movies is now going to try their hand at a live-action adaptation of an animated TV show.

They're going with Amphibia which has proven to be one of the more popular DTVA shows in recent memory and it will be on Disney+.

Right behind you.
Disney Channel and Marvel Animation have joined forces once again to bring a new animated anthology series to life: "The Many Lives of Captain Universe." This exciting collaboration is set to explore the diverse and empowering world of Marvel's lesser-known hero, Captain Universe, in a format that promises to captivate audiences of all ages.

Drawing inspiration from Marvel's successful animated anthology series "What If?" on Disney+, as well as Disney Channel's hit series "Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur," the creators have crafted a unique storytelling experience. By combining these two approaches, "The Many Lives of Captain Universe" promises to deliver a fresh perspective on the Marvel universe.

But who exactly is Captain Universe? Unlike traditional superheroes, Captain Universe isn't a single character with a set identity. Instead, Captain Universe is a semi-sentient cosmic force known as the Unipower, capable of bestowing its power and persona onto individuals when they need it most. This concept opens the door to a multitude of possibilities, allowing anyone, regardless of age, race, gender, or background, to become the hero.

Each episode of the series will feature a new protagonist who becomes Captain Universe to solve a problem in their own life. From a troubled teenager to a set of twins to a reanimated corpse, from a baby to a dog to a chair, the potential candidates are as diverse as they are intriguing. Even existing heroes like Spider-Man may find themselves imbued with the power of Captain Universe.

According to series creator and showrunner Jack Gordon, "The Many Lives of Captain Universe" will blend Marvel's iconic superhero action with surreal humor and childhood wish fulfillment. The aim is to entertain and empower the target audience of kids aged 6-11 while also delivering valuable life lessons through the problems that each episode's Captain Universe overcomes.

One of the most exciting reveals during the announcement was an animatic of the show's theme song, titled "The Hero That Could Be You." This catchy tune sets the stage for the adventures to come and encapsulates the spirit of the series.

With its innovative premise, diverse cast of characters, and blend of action and humor, "The Many Lives of Captain Universe" is poised to be yet another success for Marvel and Disney. As audiences prepare to embark on this cosmic journey, one thing is certain: anyone can be a hero when they harness the power of Captain Universe.

I wonder what cartoons Caitlin Clark likes
Xilam is one of my most favourite animation studios, I enjoy alot of their cartoons from Hubert and Takako, Oggy and the Cockroaches and Zig and Sharko. Xilam is a studio that has inspired many and has created endless classics that we enjoy.

What's your most fond memory of Xilam?
Given how Drew Barrymore's production company Flower Films has mainly made live action projects for older audiences, them producing the TV special Olive The Other Reindeer and the Netflix preschool show Princess Power are definitely quite unusual. It would certainly explain the humor of the latter.
According to TVInsider, MTV2 will premiere Sponge on the Run movie on Sat Jul 13 at 6pm
