Gunn confirms he has finished a script, won't be announcing Superman's actor this month, and DC Studios doesn't answer to WB Pictures.

4/19: Rumored to start filming in Atlanta in January 2024.

5/3: Gunn reportedly turned in the first draft last week.

5/10: 3 characters from The Authority rumored to appear: Apex rumored to be a codename for Jack Hawksmoor, Blitz is codename for Engineer/Angie Spica, and Ghost Man is codename for Doctor in casting. Eve Teschmacher will be Lex's assistant and is an influencer. Jimmy Olsen will be an open casting call with acto.

5/11: Gunn confirms January 2024 start date.

5/13: More casting reports. David Corenswet is reportedly one of the top contenders to portray Superman and will do a screen test post-Memorial Day to early June but there are at least two other contenders in te mix. Jacob Elordi was talked about. Tom Brittney and Andrew Richardson were considered early one. Emma Mackey, Rachel Brosnahan, Phoebe Dynevor, and Samara Weaving were up for Lois. Word is Brosnahan gave an outstanding audition. Nicholas Hoult said to be Lex Luthor. But importantly, the filmmakers and studio are nowhere near a decision.

A rumor Gunn talked to someone in the Guardians of the Galaxy cast about Luthor but likely won't work out. And a role being tested for is codenamed Apex.

Another rumor black actors are being considered for Apex.

Gunn responded then also revealed only one person has been cast Legacy but it isn't any of the regular players in the Superman world.

5/14: The GOTG actor reportedly was Bradley Cooper.

5/15: Brosnahan comments on the rumor.

6/1: Pierson Fodé is now reportedly a frontrunner for Superman.

6/8: Nicholas Hoult, David Corenswet or Tom Brittney rumored to be frontrunners for Superman and Emma Mackey, Rachel Brosnahan and Phoebe Dynevor for Lois.

6/9: Lex Luthor and members of The Authority will be cast after Superman and Lois.

Superman costume was worn on 2nd day of testing. An announcement could come later this week for Superman and Lois. Both Alexander and Bill Skarsgård are both on the shortlist for Luthor. 7/2: Score already being developed.

7/3: Lex Luthor screen tests will begin taking place in the coming weeks, reportedly close to casting Jimmy Olsen, a Perry White casting call suggests DC Studios is looking for Black actors over 50, and also casting for a Middle Eastern dictator codenamed "Broukhim" and Eve Teschmacher will be open casting.

Won't be young Clark scenes.

Gunn commemorates today saying it will be 2 years til the movie comes out.

7/12: Anthony Carrigan cast as Metamorpho.

The superheroes revealed this week are to help Superman's story better, not to set up separate projects. Superman and Lois are the very clear protagonists.

Gunn debunks rumor Daniel Craig was cast as Lex Luthor.

Insider claims Superman will try to solve a crisis in the Middle East but other heroes disagree, Lex Luthor is involved in the peace talks, and the heroes are part of the JSA/a JSA-esque team.

7/21: Insider claims Skyler Gisondo is being eyed for the role of Jimmy Olsen.

I'm still expecting a riff on "What's so Funny about Truth, Justice, and the American Way?"
Yeah. I'm still inclined to think Brainy gets a cameo/alluded to/mentioned. It sounds like he's not the main villain. There's already Luthor appearing and I'm sure Superman trades blows with The Authority if they're really appearing. Doesn't sound like the movie needs another a-list villain to show up in a major role.

Maria Gabriela de Faria cast as the Engineer.
Her character is Angela Spica aka The Engineer. Part of the Warner/DC flick’s villain team, Angie’s powers stem from nanotechnology built into her body. Created by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch, she’s the second DC character to bear the name of The Engineer and was first introduced in The Authority vol.1 #1 in 1999.
