For me, I'd have to say I did not know rich ladies being able to go to spas/beauty parlors to get naked and have some kind of mud/cream applied to them for skin/pore treatment, while cucumber slices or whatever are placed over their eyes, was a thing until I was 13 or 14 and saw the John Candy movie Who's Harry Crumb?.

All I will further say is, that movie is not one of John Candy's finest, but it showed how great and effective the SexySilhouette trope can be.

I first saw a Smart Car in The Da Vinci Code. It was before they were available in the US. I know I’m not the only one because I remember the whole theater erupting with laughter at my screening.
