Arguably the best Batman movie ever made arrives on 4K Ultra HD just in time for its 30th anniversary!

BATMAN: MASK OF THE PHANTASM

Studio: Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment
Release Date: September 12, 2023
Run Time: 76 minutes

Synopsis: The Dark Knight must save Gotham City from a new threat in the critically acclaimed 1993 Warner Bros. major motion picture Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.

When a woman from Bruce Wayne's past, Andrea Beaumont, comes back into his life, Bruce questions whether he should continue protecting Gotham City as Batman. But his introspection is short-lived when the city's most notorious crime bosses are killed, and the Caped Crusader is blamed for their murders. The Dark Knight sets out to clear his name, revealing a new masked vigilante: the Phantasm.

Based on the hit television show Batman: The Animated Series and featuring Warner Bros.' first-ever use of computer-generated animation, this film noir-inspired original story continues the Batman legacy with a dark mystery involving the Phantasm and Batman's infamous archrival, the Joker.

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital) Special Feature includes:
-Kevin Conroy: I am the Knight

I'm not sure whether this is the appropriate thread to ask this question, but does anyone know whether there might be a 30th anniversary screening of the film this Fall? (Perhaps a Fathom Events or Fandango event?)

It looks as though there was an anniversary screening in late October:

I'm surprised that D.C. hasn't made a bigger deal of this for its 30th anniversary. Then again, I suppose the actual anniversary is still to come (next month).

Just had to say that if you are a fan of this film, you must pick up this new release even if you have any of the previous versions. The image and sound quality are magnitudes above any and all previous releases, IMHO.

From the very first shots, the image just jumps off of the screen and otherwise sparkles (in 4K). Just look at the composition of the walls of the parking structure in the opening sequence where Chuckie Sol, Phantasm, and finally Bats are involved to see this sparkling literally in action (that isn't present to anywhere near this degree on the previous Blu Ray release).

And the incredible soundtrack is finally done in proper 5.1 surround sound that is just gorgeous.

The only bummer is that there is once again no commentary, but the new Kevin Conroy tribute is also just excellent along with also being a genuine tear jerker knowing that he is no longer with us (but will always be with us in spirit of course).

If you don't have a 4k player and TV, get one now if for no other reason than to just to be able to check out this disc :) .

As you can probably tell, I simply cannot recommend this disc enough :) .

The New Woody Woodpecker Show was just removed from Peacock... Can this show just take a break from being screwed over?
