Figures. We're not in the 80's anymore anyway. I wonder why they didn't give the first movie the same rating as the sequel back then, thanks to that one F-bomb?

Interesting fact, to note: The first Beetlejuice has a 15 rating in the UK (one of the two British equivalents to an R rating).

More than likely, the ratings board are becoming more overprotective in the 21st Century (with me considering PG-13 these days to be the "new PG").

I wonder if Charles Deetz's death is essential to the movie's plot in some way. I get why Jeffery Jones wasn't asked to come back, but the producers could have recast Charles instead of killing him off. Just sayin'.

I don't know why you're expecting that; Charles has definitely been killed off. The plot of the movie has the Deetzes coming together for Charles's funeral. That's not a spoiler, it's in the trailer.
