Slightly off-topic: I've just noticed that there are two versions of "Dexter's Laboratory" ep. "Dream Machine" end scene - the earlier one (used on all PAL prints, including airings on CN CEE) has sleeping Dee Dee with visible twintales and the lightbulb shining in blue. Meanwhile the current one (probably the "fixed" version) seen on recent NTSC printings (i.e. recent uploads on CN's official YT channels) features Dee Dee with her hair let down, while the bulb is red instead:

Can anyone clarify when the second edit (i.e. with the red bulb at the end) of this episode was made (or at least its confirmed earliest appearance)?

I wonder why it never aired on Cartoon Network UK.

I think there’s two possible reasons why it wasn’t shown.

1. The management thought that it didn’t have enough appeal to young children.
2. If they did show it, they’d cut loads out of it, like with AT, RS and SU.

I don't see anything about it being on autopilot. Airing new promos every week and monthly schedule changes isn't exacly autopilot. Even if you have that feeling, but it's really not.

It wouldn't be much of a cliffhanger would it? There be less excitement for a new potential season.

I guess they were told that there will be second season, then management changed their mind after it was made, as you know there's been so many upheavals at the company.

No end of shows (especially U.S. produced shows) have ended their first season on cliffhangers and weren't picked up for a second season.
