18 years ago today (20 August 2006), an incident during the Hungarian national holiday's fireworks happened. A storm came on, 5 people died. As for the live coverages: M1 gave up the fighting by cutting to a continuity, TV2 showed a best-of after their cameras broke completely, while RTL Klub showed it in its full glory.

The 1986 (!) HBO Movie intro, but it was edited with various famous effects. For some reason I like the one with the white-blue effect better.

Fun fact: that intro, along with the 1982 Feature Presentation one (as a startup and closedown ident), was also used in Hungary between 1991-1997. If you want to see them in the video below: 0:24 and 5:55 respectively.
