It might have had a better chance of being picked up by the higher ups, but I doubt that the series would have gotten nearly as much attention if they didn't use established characters being taken over and turned into zombies too.

There's still hope that Dodge Greenley's Pibby series might be in the works! It's NOT cancelled yet, but it doesn't have the greenlight quite yet.
