I found the ratings for billy and Mandy that air on CKP last week, it seems to still be doing well meaning people are still watching the block. I’m afraid CKP isn’t going to go anywhere if it’s doing well, but they definitely still need to improve their schedule, or else the block is toasted for sure.

Good find Santana. This must be the first time a show on Checkered Past cracked the top 200. I certainly didn’t expect to see Billy and Mandy above the Big Bang Theory.

And good point Conttact, they do seem to air different ads later at night. I was mainly surprised to not see the block ads airing during Checkered Past itself, since they usually seem to air once an hour. All I saw that was different after Checkered Past was an ad for Psi-Cops though. It’s understandable they want to promote new shows and blocks over Checkered Past.

Huh. For once, color me impressed. It actually managed to rate for once.

Granted, it’s about on par for CN premieres of new shows like Total Drama rather than Adult Swim’s norm (Bob’s Burgers rating 232,000 as opposed to Billy and Mandy’s 134,000), but I do have to give credit where it’s due

I did see the Lincoln ad yesterday on the block but not today. It seems they’re still promoting the block, just not as much as Rewind.

Those B&M numbers give it some hope that it didn’t. Prior to that, and given AS frantically changing the schedule week to week, it seemed the 5pm hour was pretty dire, like 0.01-0.02. These numbers imply an average of more like 0.05-0.08. Never good enough to chart, but not too bad for 5pm.

As long as Sailor Moon isn’t considered a premier (because if it is then it’s doing 0.01 or less) then Rewind is probably doing acceptable.

Where is Toonami Jr with Doraemon? LOL!

You joke, but this could work on paper, Doraemon is extremely beloved by preschool children in Asia, but content wise is part of THAT DEMOGRAPHIC CN HATES NOW, GASP! 6-11! KILL IT WITH FIRE the executives say.

Even the really edited Disney XD dub was very edgy, something cartoon network avoids like the plague now and its not edgy enough to send to Adult Swim either.

let's hope they make EE&E take hiatus from the block (like they did with the block's other flagship shows: Dexter, Courage, & Billy & Mandy) & either make SJ, Cow & Chicken, ECC, or I Am Weasel temporarily replace EE&E! or either have the block add new shows Johnny Bravo, Sheep In The Big City, Time Squad, PPG and such for more variety!

I am getting very tired of the bumper where Irwin says “oh no, it’s puberty” and turns into a werewolf. They air it every day.

I also noticed now they are airing ads for Toonami proper, not just Rewind, during Checkered Past. They had a Zom 100 ad last night.

I don't understand the hype to kill Checkered Past. This is WBD we're dealing with. It's amazing we even got a single extra day of Toonami. Checkered Past is simple and free for them to run.

To be honest with you, I would not hate Checkered Past if they had more variety of shows they could have actually aired. I understand CKP had limitations and they can’t air every Cartoon Cartoon, but a nice little shake up wouldn’t hurt them. Maybe because of poor ratings is what led to them only focusing on the popular shows instead of Johnny Bravo and Sheep in the Big City or whatever. Either way, Adult Swim needs to either adapt or die.

Do I want Checkered Past to go away? No. I do want to see classic CN shows on TV again, and I want that for years (because Christina Miller refuses to do so for some reason). At least CKP (and TR) was something different rather than your usual King of the Hill and Bob’s Burgers spam-athon (not a diss to either of them; I like them, but I’m just saying). I just want them to air some more shows. That’s all I want. Otherwise, Checkered Past will end up becoming NickRewind 2.0.

Honest to God, this is why Max should have kept the CN Classics because it was a lot more unified rather than sticking to the kids or adults label. Seriously, why removing your own catalog just for the sake of saving money at the expense of everyone else? Sure, there’s physical and digital media, and that’s fine, but come on?

Interestingly I just saw an ad for Dexter's Lab Complete series during American Dad, probably the first time I can recall them airing any ad for any of the network's complete series collections.
