New season, new story arc...new voice actors, even.

Mr. PBH? The season's over already?

Drug dealers are just illegitimate pharmacists.

Rick and Morty, created by Dan Harmon AND NO ONE ELSE.

A cyborg Marilyn Manson.

Hmm...Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden. Never saw those names before.

A regular and semi-regular cast reunion.

Friendly looking bar.

Last season we established Rick Prime was a thing and...yeah, that's about it.

But with some brand-spanking-new voices, I'm sure Rick and Morty are equipped to handle him.

Mr. Poopy Butthole continues his downward spiral. Of course, with a name like that, I guess it was kind of inevitable.

An actual ghost of a robot? Implying that it had a soul?

Getting the gang back together.

Birdperson has a daughter?

Very aggressive bar name. Censorship laws must be pretty lax here.

Hey Hugh. Looking forward to you returning as Wolverine.

Rick hosted the Oscars? I feel like I would've remembered something that interesting.

This is an intervention?

And suddenly we're in that one Helluva Boss episode.

There's a lot we don't know about Gene apparently.

So it seems we're getting Amy back. Dead or alive.

Squanchy really squanched that.

This intervention isn't going especially well.

Won't she just fall for Hugh Jackman?

"That could have been a lot worse."
*PB is gone*
It's about to get a lot worse.

That poor ghost just keeps falling like that one villain from Batman Beyond.

The boombox over the head cliche is from the movie Say Anything, for the record.

He's a predator, but not a sexual predator.

Well, it's not like you can kidnap your own son, right?

His name is Wayne?

Explaining the fading ruins the fading, Rick.

Late to the fade-out, Gene.

Creator credit moved to the end.

You know, there's an ignition key...

...today.

So no portal gun this time, just...fading.

Sam Elliott?

That is one powerful lawnmower.

"So he would've survived if he had just stood back five feet?"
I mean...there's about a hundred different things he could've done to avoid it.

"How Poopy Got His Poop Back" - Huh I admit I did kind of think at least Squanchy died in "The Wedding Squanchers" but if they found a way to bring back Birdperson why not him? I do really dig plot wise how this honestly a build up of the weird arc we've been getting with Mr. Poopybutthole/Wayne over the seasons. Like I kind of thought they would mostly just relegate him to either random appearances or just popping up when the season is over but no have him actually be the focus of an episode along with the rest of... I guess the people Rick either considers actual friends or at least would have as a designated driver. I admit there were some good bits between the ending tag of the lawnmower killing a guy and then running out of batteries as well as the stuff with Hugh Jackman and the predator actually revealed to be Amy's new boyfriend but I actually liked this one the most because of the actual little story they did. Granted it's not really the most original story (and even with disappearing pills they aren't making the stand by me "and this is what happened to everyone" ending that interesting. Like feels like Clerks the Animated Series really nailed that joke and no one's been able to top that) but again I like actually following up on Mr. Poopybutthole and seeing what happened to me. Oh plus realized this did actually have the really funny idea of Rick building a robot to become a ghost with unfinished business to haunt Wayne but then forgetting to give it proper gravity. So yeah good one... honestly probably the weakest season premiere since like the pilot honestly but not bad though yeah usually R&M have stronger season openers. Not the fault of the new VAs or writing staff (well sort of at a fault of them) just again my opinion.

A Predator and Hugh Jackman in an episode of Rick and Morty. Pretty cool opener. Especially because it was with the old gang getting back together and finally resolving Mr. Poopybutthole's problems. Or at least the start of.

Birdman rocks. His lines always crack me up.

Unfinished business. Sounds like the arc for this season considering Rick Prime.

Loved Rick overexplaining the potential plot holes of the fade away pills. :D

Birdperson has a daughter?
Yeah, season 5 when Rick finally tried to restore Birdperson back to normal from Phoenixperson and did that whole mind trip thing then in a memory they found about about Birddaughter and I think she was in the end tag in a mess hall fight.

Rick hosted the Oscars? I feel like I would've remembered something that interesting.

Well I hope have a Morty and Birddaughter have an episode together. Weather on the same team or as adversaries, she will get Morty into trouble.

Well at least Gene made it back home...somehow.

Freaky Friday plot. Alas I have seen neither the original nor the remake.

Umm...wow.

I wonder what cartoons Caitlin Clark likes
Xilam is one of my most favourite animation studios, I enjoy alot of their cartoons from Hubert and Takako, Oggy and the Cockroaches and Zig and Sharko. Xilam is a studio that has inspired many and has created endless classics that we enjoy.

What's your most fond memory of Xilam?
Given how Drew Barrymore's production company Flower Films has mainly made live action projects for older audiences, them producing the TV special Olive The Other Reindeer and the Netflix preschool show Princess Power are definitely quite unusual. It would certainly explain the humor of the latter.
According to TVInsider, MTV2 will premiere Sponge on the Run movie on Sat Jul 13 at 6pm
