Because live sport (especially top-tier football) is more lucrative than a kids channel airing a normal schedule. However when there's no major sports on, it's likely that the other channels have more viewership. It's a shame that they had to temporarily sacrifice a kids channel and they must be really short of transponder space.

Well, there are entertainment channels to suspend during matches, so it isn’t good to suspend kids channel for no reason.

If their decision was to air Canal+ Extra 5-7 on satellite replacing three of their channels, incl. Teletoon+, Canal+ Film, and Canal+ Dokument, during group stage matches, rather than suspending both channels completely, that would be fine.

However, great that you told us the reasons about the importance of live sports than broadcasting kids channel in normal schedule.

Well, Mediaset used to apply that strategy back when they had Premium and Hiro (their anime channel), when still around, was the one to get the short end of the stick when there were matches, as it was the one channel that they kept suspending.

Right. It was already a feat to get all those channels in different muxes. Different times... (Also because Premium is no more. Still salty-ish about Studio Universal's loss with that. But I guess it was the only possible choice for that.)

I think it's more of a Muslim cultural thing. Spacetoon Indonesia was likely created by an Indonesian on Hajj (my theory). The Turkish market is more secular but has had strict rules comparable to, say, the UAE in recent years.

Today, ASBU States’ channels now airs the Paralympics after it was aired in Morocco, the only country to air it, during Tokyo 2020 (Tokyo 2021).

Most Arabic channels aired Karate/Taekwondo competition, while AD Sports 2 airs the Basketball match, however, technical issue has been faced, where the picture from the source has been glitched and blank/colorbars has been shown before going on ad breaks. Saudi channels are absent from the broadcasting.
