Further observations: Fox channels also have been changed .
These promos introduce new British announcers: I also think they've dropped the monthly highlight thing, so typically Asian but not making much sense, especially when you don't have so many highlights.

I guess a few relatively meaningless "Asian" things also have been dropped: like the top of the hour/half hour based schedule. Since these channels carry no adverts, they had to fill at times entire breaks of promos and fillers.

Overall, I think EMEA has smarter policies.

No doubt part 2 might mean some cuts, e.g. reduction of channels (some "Asian" decisions), rebranding Fox to Star or FX, maybe some slight mergers with pan-EMEA feeds too (I mainly think of NG Wild there, which can be merged with the ad-less pan-EMEA version with ease)

If you're wondering, the social pages also have been taken over by the EMEA team.

Such as the YouTube page, with the first EMEA video from 12 days ago: Europe from above, ironically lol.

IMO the British announcers just sound better than the loud-just-for-the-sake-of-it "American" ones (from the Asia team).
I saw that and I was trying from last week to find a streaming link for the channels in other websites. I found just Wild, while Nat Geo, I didn't find it, as I wanted to see how the channel has looked like, but just found the promos being aired on Wild.

Regarding FOX, their look has been changed last year, and the channels has been reduced (Remaining FOX, FOX Movies, FOX Action Movies, and FOXLife), while FOX Rewayat, FOX Crime, FOX Family Movies, and FX has been closed down slowly, and three out of four defunct FOX MENA channels has been rebranded before their closure on November and December.

Double Post:

Sorry for that, but it’s URGENT!

In this article, DAZN has became the largest investor in women football rights.

Today, DAZN will air Saudi Women Premier League for viewers around the world (except for the MENA region, where SSC is broadcasting it).

Regarding the BBC News merger and the expelled presenters:

A BBC internal investigation has found that star presenters on its relaunched news channel were not promised their jobs before an open recruitment process.

Matthew Amroliwala, Christian Fraser, Yalda Hakim, Lucy Hockings, and Maryam Moshiri were announced in February as the chief presenters of BBC News, but unsuccessful candidates complained that managers decided on the line-up last year before allowing people to apply.

Daryl Maitland, head of HR at production arm BBC Studios, was brought in to investigate the recruitment process. He delivered his report this week, concluding that the BBC was fair to the 15 presenters who applied for the five roles, which command salaries of up to £230,000 ($280,000).

He did not support claims that the five successful presenters were pre-selected because they were already familiar to international audiences on BBC World News.

Maitland is said to have reached this conclusion despite hearing evidence from a so-called “whistleblower” among the five presenters, who said they effectively had a “tap on the shoulder.” Two sources unconnected to the dispute said that the successful candidate told Maitland that they were given reassurances they would secure one of the sought-after posts.

Sources said Maitland’s conclusions were not a surprise given that his investigation was not truly independent of BBC management. Others said the BBC simply followed its long-established grievance procedures in asking a manager from outside of the news division to investigate the dispute.

The BBC said: “We do not comment on HR issues.”

Concerns about the recruitment process were raised by five female presenters, who remain in limbo about their future on the news channel, six months after the BBC merged its international and domestic networks into a single service.

Martine Croxall, Karin Giannone, Geeta Guru-Murthy, Kasia Madera, and Annita McVeigh have been on the bench since March. The presenters are keen to return to work, but do not wish to take a pay cut or a demotion. In their absence, the BBC has turned to countless hours of freelance cover.

Problems will continue with the merger, until they’ll say, “We did a dramatical mistake”.

Like with the EMEA channels, coming from Disney EMEA offices rather than Disney Asian ones, it makes sense.

This resemble the Disney Channel move (from "Asia" to EMEA) in 2005.

It'd be interesting to know about their next moves for the Fox channels.

So NG Wild hasn't been merged with the EMEA feed?
Could National Geographic Wild be shutting down in these regions perhaps I presume EMEA would be losing something if not everything

I was not talking about shut down, NG and NG Wild usually come in pairs.

If one shuts down, also the other one does

Very much aware of what you've mentioned in your statement. As for the "if" doesn't Turkey still offer Disney Junior without Disney Channel same goes for Latin America with National Geographic. I think National Geographic can manage as a single channel after their recent deal with spectrum I presume they'll only have content for one channel alongside Disney+.

Polish opposition demands restore for the public media.

The opposition wants quick changes in public media. Due to the risk of a presidential veto, this will take place without changes to the laws. According to unofficial information from Wirtualnemedia.pl, it is planned to put Telewizja Polska and Polish Radio into liquidation and appoint receiverships. Janusz Daszczyński may return to the position of head of TVP.

Until recently, Telewizja Polska believed that you could be safe about your job at least until the fall of 2025, i.e. the period after the possible loss of Law and Justice in the presidential elections. The probable government of the Civic Coalition, Polish People's Party, Poland 2050, and the Left wants to quickly organize the public media.

Kurski's predecessor may return to the president's chair.

By introducing changes in public media, the opposition wants to bypass the National Media Council dominated by PiS.

As determined by the Wirtualnemedia.pl portal, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, through the General Meeting, would put media companies into liquidation. Then, receiverships would be established and the RMN would not be able to dismiss them. The state of liquidation would only be lifted after statutory reforms of the media market. They would deprive the National Media Council of the right to appoint public media management boards. In accordance with the judgment of the Constitutional Tribunal, these powers could return to the National Broadcasting Council, the composition of which would also be changed. The terms of office of the National Broadcasting Council and the National Broadcasting Council expire in 2028.

Changes in the authorities in the public media could be made by the future Minister of Culture, reconstructing, remaining within his competence, the regulations governing the operation of TVP and Polish Radio. "As for who could become the new head of TVP or the new company created from the merger of TVP and PR, Janusz Daszczyński certainly seems to be a candidate for this position. He has all the substantive competences to take up this function. It should also be remembered that eight years ago he was illegally removed from the presidency of TVP", notes Jan Ordyński, opposition member of the Program Council of Polish Radio, in an interview with Wirtualnemedia.pl.

According to our information, Daszczyński is seriously considered. Daszczyński was elected president of TVP by the public broadcaster's supervisory board in June 2015. He was supposed to hold the position until mid-2019, but he was dismissed in January 2016 after the Sejm adopted an act extinguishing the mandates of members of public media management boards. Daszczyński's place was taken by Jacek Kurski. Daszczyński, who was the vice-president of TVP in 1994-1999, currently sits on the broadcaster's Program Council (recommended by the Civic Coalition). The former head of TVP is fighting for over PLN 200,000. PLN compensation for terminating his employment contract.

"The prevailing belief is that the changes will affect primarily managers and journalists dealing with news and journalism. Changes, which is substantive and personal, and thorough ones, in TVP should affect primarily TVP Info and journalistic and information programs broadcast on other TVP antennas. Their disastrous and destructive role in recent years cannot be justified. There was a lot of lies, fraud, cheapness and generally poor quality, and the people working there were not journalists. Instead, they became officers of the PiS propaganda front. This was never the case after 1989", says Ordyński.

So, if that happened, that means no more Poland's Rossiya 24 (and its program for anti-American investment like TVN) and TVP Info returns to normal, and maybe TVP3 reverts back to TVP Regionalna, and many would or may happen in the transitional period for their public media.

Hope KRRiT is also included in their plans for media reconstruction, not just TVP and public media.

Anything is possible. And this is already the good news that TVP will be pre-2016 self again. :)

Double post...

RTL Hungary launches 4 new channels on 15 December: one RTL-branded (RTL Otthon) and three Klub-branded ones (Moziklub, Sorozatklub and Kölyökklub). So, the word Klub isn't really phased out from RTL's side. :)
https://media1.hu/2023/10/18/egyszerre-4-uj-tevecsatornat-indit-az-rtl-magyarorszag/

For Moziklub, Film+ 2 would have been a better name (a resurrection of the brand). Sorozatklub doesn't make sense, as there is Sorozat+.

ITV Studios today announces new FAST channels across the globe as it continues to evolve its distribution strategy, building a suite of owned and operated channel propositions across the FAST and social space and creating new homes for its award-winning scripted and non scripted content.

The business’ 15 FAST channels are now available globally across 16 territories with the ITV Studios team programming over 3,500 hours of its scripted and non-scripted content to audiences across three continents. On the social side, ITV Studios’ portfolio of brands now deliver over 6bn views annually across its owned and operated channels driven by top performing brands such as The Voice, Love Island and Hell’s Kitchen alongside its suite of original non-scripted channels.

Amongst the soon to be launched FAST channels are a single IP offering based around the quiz show Eggheads (Samsung and Pluto UK) and The Hotel Inspector channel in Australia with Samsung TV Plus. These will be closely followed by True Lives by ITV Studios featuring inspiring human stories, true crime and award winning documentaries, which will initially launch in the UK on Samsung, Pluto, LG and Rakuten.

Schitt’s Creek, the multi-award winning international hit CBC show is now available as a single IP channel across almost 40 territories in Latin America and the World of Love Island brings the hit brand to the Nordics in FAST form, available on Pluto (Denmark, Norway and Sweden) alongside Samsung and Rakuten in Sweden.

These new channels join ITV Studios’ existing suite of global hit brands with dedicated FAST channels, such as Come Dine With Me, Hell’s Kitchen USA and River Monsters. Various international versions of Come Dine With Me are now available in the US (Roku and Freevee), alongside channels in the UK and Australia (Samsung), the Nordics and the Netherlands (both Rakuten).

The Hell’s Kitchen US channel is now available across the UK, US, Nordics, Netherlands and Australia, while a fully localised channel has also launched on Pluto, Samsung, LG, Freevee and Rakuten in Germany. Also fully localised, River Monsters has launched in Germany on Pluto, LG and Freevee, with Samsung TV Plus in Australia soon to launch also, where it is already available with 7Plus.

Elsewhere, a channel dedicated to Tetra Media’s Un Village Francais, set within the backdrop of World War Two, launched earlier this year on Samsung and Pluto in France.

Finally, two existing channels will re-brand. Storylands has become World Drama by ITV Studios, with shows including Jordskott, Aber Bergen and Un Village Francais available on the channel in the UK (Samsung, Freevee, Rakuten and LG) while ITV Choice on Samsung TV Plus in Australia will now be known as Entertain by ITV Studios, featuring shows such as Four Weddings and Paul O’Grady’s For The Love of Dogs.

Graham Haigh, EVP, Global Digital Partnerships at ITV Studios, said: “It’s amazing to see our strategy now coming to life with so many of our iconic brands and incredible content attracting new viewers in both the FAST and social space, continuing to serve existing superfans around the world and at the same time creating new ones.

“Both FAST and social platforms such as YouTube, Snapchat and Meta are enabling us to diversify our distribution business, launch new brands & channels whilst allowing us to become a step closer to the consumer with greater access to data and insights.

“We’re very excited for what’s to come over the next year, working closely with our incredible producers and platform partners alike to bring some of our other key brands and content into the evolving FAST and social space.”

TNT Sports took over NBA from Sky Sports UK.

Telenet is now fully owned by Liberty Global.

So, you know I have the Sony Death List™, in which I do list every closure of any channel that Sony had? I did come across on Wikipedia on some pages that would, maybe, fill? the very few empty slots I still had (AXN Israel, AXN South Korea and the Baltic feeds (?) of Sony Channel and Sony Turbo, that as time goes, I'm starting to believe that they just were the Russian ones with added Baltic languages tracks - I do believe I would need someone fron that zone for untangle this one?).
While a little messy, the AXN page gave me some data for AXN Israel. I might have to snoop around with the Wayback Machine for verification, but, yeah.
AXN South Korea is still a cryptid, though.

(Also, the Animax page somehow reveals that the Animax block on AXN Italy wasn't a metropolitan legend like I thought? If I had a nickel of many times Italy got a branded block somewhere for a channel that never launched, I'd have two cents. Not a lot but sure it's weird that it happened twice. This Animax block on AXN Italy and the SYFY block on Steel, that only people that had Premium Mediaset might recall.
It does miss the blocks that happened in UK, though, since I'm 101% certain there was one on Sony Movies UK before it went FTA and I did heard of a stint of an Animax block on Scuzz before the Sony Movies one???)

Yeah, I still can't believe that was a thing.
Paramount and Skydance have officially merged. Does this mean that Brian Robbins got the boot?
Season 6 of Total Drama (production code-wise), Pahkitew Island, made its American debut a decade ago.

It's my favorite season of the show (behind all 3 of Total Dramarama's) and has the best cast of the series, which includes the 2 best characters of the franchise, Leonard and Max (who should've been the finalists).

Happy 10 year anniversary to The 7D.
