Here's some, from the top of my head.

  • War Machine isn't featured in the comic, at all, which means you don't get the Iron Man/War Machine fight after Iron Man attacks Stingray.
  • A lot of the villains from the comic were replaced by one's previously used in the show in season one. Blizzard and Blacklash don't appear in the book at all.
  • The Ghost, the villain who sold the stolen technology to Justin Hammer in the cartoon doesn't appear in the book at all. In the book, another villain whose name escapes me sells the secrets to some of his villains.
  • There's no nuclear explosion in the book.
  • Iron Man fights Hawkeye in the cartoon and The Captain in the book.
  • There's 'Hulkbuster' suit in the comic, simply a new red and gold armour, signaling the end of the red and blue/silver suit Iron Man was sporting at the time.

There's more, but I'm forgetting them. Anyone else know?

Both versions have Iron Man (apparently) killed by firepower. Tony creates a strong Armor to take Firepower down. Concerning the story of Iron Man's Death as far as the public is concerned:

Cartoon- It's most likely that Iron Man's reputation recovered from his actions. Wasn't really mentioned.

Comic- Tony's cover story is that he employed a new body guard, and the Iron Man who went on The Armor War rampage is dead.

Probably the best episodes of the entire run, although the finale was pretty good to. Better set my Tivo.

Also, in the comics Firepower wasn't a robot but was an armored suit built using stolen Stark tech by Edwin Cord (not Justin Hammer) in partnership with the government.

Cord blackmailed the government into letting him keep Firepower under his control by threatening to reveal that Firepower wasn't built to go after renegade heroes but rather to be used on rioting civilians.
