So WB has room for a flop like One Tree Hill and a no-buzz What I Like About You, the nearly dead Grounded For Life and the tired Charmed but not the talked about, cult-favorite, critic's darling Angel? Am I missing something?
Yeah, One Tree Hill actually improved its ratings to the point that the only thing that was ahead of it was The OC. Personally, I think that Charmed should have ended a long time ago. And while I will miss Angel the reason they cancelled it made a little bit of sense; I just wish they would have renewed for one more season.

I am also very disappointed in the WB for not adding any new sci-fi shows to their line-up. I mean I thought I heard somewhere that they had ordered pilots for a Dark Shadows revival, a new Lost in Space show and that one show about The Flash. I wonder what happened to them???

It made no sense. It was insane troll logic.;)

This next season, the networks have taken The District, Ed and Boston Public away from me and Friends came to an end so I've lost some programming I would rather still have. On the other hand, I'm trying to resolve not to add any more TV shows so as my stuffs ends or gets cancelled I can cut down on my overall TV, but I may have to check out a few of these.

Clubhouse could be a good one. With Dean Cain, Christopher Lloyd and Kirsten Storms I don't see how you can go wrong? I am concerned that this means the end for Storms as Belle Black on Days of our Lives unless the series meets a quick end.

I do like Jason Alexander so I may have check out Listen Up right before WWE RAW. I actually enjoyed Bob Patterson a couple years ago, but hopefully this show will have more shelf life.

NBC might be able to pull me back with Joey simply because I'm really intrigue by how things go for the Friend from here.

I will almost certainly have to check out Father of the Pride. A half hour animated show never hurt anyone. :D

Otherwise I hope to just stay the course with WWE, 24, Smallville, Star Trek: Enterprise and maybe Survivor.

Just Updated the CBS and WB Previews. And I can't fit all of the stations on One Page so I have to put the Fox Preview in this post.

New Dramas

"The Jury" (9pm/8pm (c), Tuesdays - Starts June)
Each week, 12 ordinary people will piece together a puzzle and then make the most important decision of someone else's life. Academy Award-winning director BARRY LEVINSON ("Rain Man," "The Natural," "Diner"), Emmy Award-winning writer TOM FONTANA ("Oz," "Homicide: Life on the Street"), Peabody Award-winning writer JAMES YOSHIMURA ("Homicide: Life on the Street") and JIM FINNERTY ("Oz") team up on this intense new courtroom drama. Set in New York City, the series brings the viewer into the jury room to watch the deliberators try to answer the many questions posed during a trial. As facts are exposed through flashbacks of testimony and crime footage, viewers will form their own opinions about the guilt or innocence of the defendant. Following each verdict, a final flashback will let viewers see the crime as it actually happened and reveal whether or not the jury made the right decision.

"North Shore" (8pm/7pm (c), Mondays - Starts June)
NORTH SHORE is a lush drama that captures the passion, intrigue and heart of Hawaii. This 20-something ensemble series is set at the Grand Waimea, a luxury hotel, where JASON MATTHEWS (KRISTOFFER POLAHA, "America's Prince: The John F. Kennedy Jr. Story") is the popular general manager and his ex-girlfriend NICOLE (BROOKE BURNS, "Shallow Hal," "Dog Eat Dog") is the newly hired head of guest relations, having left her father's hotel empire to make her own way in the business – and in life. Working side by side causes much tension between them, but their romantic relationship may be far from over. Surrounding them in paradise is the rest of the hotel staff, who have dramatic lives of their own. NORTH SHORE delves into relationships among the recurring characters, with the added intrigue of stories about the hotel's affluent and powerful guests.

"House" (9pm/8pm (c), Tuesdays - Starts November)
From Executive Producer PAUL ATTANASIO, the creator of "Homicide: Life on the Street", along with KATIE JACOBS and DAVID SHORE, comes a new take on mystery, where the villain is a medical malady and the hero is a cantankerous doctor who trusts no one, least of all his patients. DR. GREG HOUSE (HUGH LAURIE, "Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows") is irreverent, controversial, devoid of bedside manner and wouldn't even talk to his patients if he could get away with it, but he is brilliant diagnostician and only the most dire cases come his way. House and his hand-picked team of experts will do whatever it takes – legal or not – to make the diagnoses that will solve these medical mysteries and save lives.

"Athens" (8pm/7pm (c), Mondays - Starts January)
JOSH SCHWARTZ, creator of "The O.C.," turns his attention to the dramas that arise between characters who are experiencing life as young adults. This series will explore the intertwined lives and loves of the fictional New England community of Athens, home to a prestigious university that acts as a dividing line between the rich outsiders who study and teach there, and the local townies who serve that population. Viewers will enter this world through the friendship of JED HALL, a young English professor, and ETHAN FROST, an 18-year-old freshman whose arrival changes the dynamics for everyone in Athens. Like Ryan and Seth on "The O.C.," Jed and Ethan will become unlikely partners in an alliance that will forever change them and the people of this town

"The Inside" (8pm/7pm (c), Fridays - Starts January)
At first glance, DANNY ROBERTS (RACHEL NICHOLS, "Dumb & Dumberer") seems to be the quintessential American teenager, dating the quarterback at a suburban high school. Only a few know her secret: Danny is not really a high school student, but a 22-year-old federal agent working undercover. Helping Danny – who is actually Agent ELIZABETH WORTH – maintain her cover is Agent SEAN ECKHARDT (PETER FACINELLI, "Fastlane"). In the pilot episode, Danny/Elizabeth's drug investigation is sidetracked when her high school "boyfriend" is murdered. She must confront the pressures of getting personally involved in the lives of her classmates, while working to solve the murder and put the drug investigation back on track – all without blowing her cover. Over the course of the series, Danny's assignments will vary, but she always faces the unique challenges of going undercover to solve crimes

"Jonny Zero" (9pm/8pm (c), Fridays - Starts January)
In this new drama from JOHN WELLS ("The West Wing," "ER"), FRANKY G ("The Italian Job," "Manito") stars as JONNY, freshly released from prison for drug possession and now caught between his need to redeem himself in the eyes of his family, and the temptations and influences of his own dark past. Jonny goes back to work for his former boss, shady club owner JOSEPH GARRET (RITCHIE COSTER, "Traffic: The Miniseries") – but this time he uses his criminal knowledge and his entrée into New York's club scene to solve crimes. Meanwhile, the FBI is trying to force him to go undercover and bust his old friends in the underworld

New Sitcoms/Reality:

"Method & Red" (9:30pm/8:30pm (c), Wednesdays- Starts June)
Popular hip-hop stars METHOD MAN and REDMAN portray fictionalized versions of their real-life selves in this new comedy, in which the duo moves into New Jersey's posh Nottingshire Estates to provide Meth's feisty, old-school mother DOROTHEA (ANNA MARIA HORSFORD, "Minority Report") with the ultimate in luxury and comfort. Unfortunately, their un-hip neighbors don't take kindly to Method & Red's partying ways. With Dorothea keeping them in line, METHOD & RED change tactics – using spirit, kindness and even fruit cake to ingratiate themselves with their new neighbors in Nottingham Estates.

"Quintuplets" (8:30pm/7:30pm (c), Wednesdays - Starts June)
The QUINTUPLETS were adorable when they were first born, but now their overtaxed parents – BOB (ANDY RICHTER, "Andy Richter Controls the Universe") and CAROL (REBECCA CRESKOFF, "Greetings from Tucson") – have their hands full with five 15-year-olds in the house. PENNY (APRIL MATSON, "American Dreams") is awkward and unpopular at school, while her beautiful sister PAIGE (SARAH WRIGHT, "Enchanted") has enough self-esteem for both of them. Their brother PARKER (JAKE McDORMAN, "Run of the House") has the looks and gets the girls, and he's embarrassed at every turn by the oddball PEARCE (JOHNNY LEWIS, "Undressed") and the short, girl-crazy PATTON (RYAN PINKSTON, "Punk'd," "Bad Santa"). MARK REISMAN ("Frasier") has created an ensemble comedy about a family pushed to its limts and beyond.

"The Casino" (9pm/8pm (c), Mondays - Starts June)
A new unscripted series created and executive-produced by reality titan MARK BURNETT ("The Apprentice," "Survivor"), THE CASINO will provide an extraordinary 24/7, behind the-scenes look at the real-life dramas unfolding at the Golden Nugget Las Vegas Hotel and Casino as its new owners, TIM POSTER and TOM BREITLING, attempt to bring back the glory of the hotel's "Rat Pack" heyday. Conceived by Burnett and production partner CONRAD RIGGS ("The Apprentice," "Survivor"), THE CASINO will go beyond the challenges facing Poster and Breitling to explore the personal dramas unfolding among the guests and some of the 3,000 employees inside this high-stakes enterprise – from cocktail waitresses, to pit bosses, to security, management and entertainers.

"The Simple Life 2: Road Trip" (9pm/8pm (c), Wednesdays - Starts June)
THE SIMPLE LIFE 2 follows "celebutantes" and best friends PARIS HILTON and NICOLE RICHIE as they pack up their Louis Vuitton bags ... again. Only this time, it's for the ultimate cross-country road trip, a wild ride full of new jobs, host families and small towns all the way from Miami to Beverly Hills. Armed with a road map and their trendy dogs Tinkerbell and Honey Child - but no cell phones, cash or credit cards - these hilarious heiresses discover that life on the open road can sometimes drive you crazy. As the girls go from life in the fast lane to life in the carpool lane, the question still remains: can they survive THE SIMPLE LIFE 2: ROAD TRIP - and can America survive them?

"The Complex: Malibu" (Starts August)
For couples with a flair for style, an eye for detail and the know-how to achieve the best in home improvement, FOX and FremantleMedia are offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a fabulous interior design while simultaneously indulging their competitive instincts. THE COMPLEX: MALIBU will move real-life couples into a condominium building in Southern California's toniest beach community and give them a budget to renovate their unit by a specified date. This unscripted series will capture the mounting excitement and drama as the couples push themselves to the limit while their deadline looms. Once the renovations are complete, the condos will be sold at public auction and the couple whose unit nets the biggest profit will receive a spectacular grand prize. The series has been airing as "The Block" in Australia, where it is that country's most successful television series ever.

"The Billionaire: Branson's Quest..." (8pm/7pm (c), Tuesdays - Starts November)
SIR RICHARD BRANSON, the colorful founder and Chairman of the Virgin Group of Companies, teams with award-winning Bunim-Murray Productions ("The Simple Life," "Real World") to lead a group of young entrepreneurs on an epic journey around the world, testing their mettle by having them relive some of his own colorful adventures. If they make decisions that impress Branson, they will continue. But each week, one candidate will be left behind on the tarmac as the rest of the group jets off to the next adventure.

"The Next Great Champ" (8pm/7pm (c), Fridays - Starts November)
Six-time World Champion OSCAR DE LA HOYA and television powerhouse Endemol USA have teamed to discover young, raw boxers with the potential to become a top prizefighter. The hopefuls will push themselves to the limit as they train and slug it out in hopes of achieving every fighter's ultimate dream - a possible shot at a titleholder and a professional contract with De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions. This unscripted series will feature approximately one dozen up-and-coming fighters from across the country, all getting their shot to become THE NEXT GREAT CHAMP. They'll be joined by someone from their real life - a friend, co-worker, family member or loved one. The personal relationship between the fighter and friend will add tension, drama and a rare opportunity for viewers to see pugilism through the eyes of a non-boxer.

"The Partner" (9pm/8pm (c), Mondays - Starts November)
A team of "book smart" Ivy League graduates will compete against a team of "street smart" lawyers from less prestigious schools until one of them wins a job in a major law firm. Each week, the dueling lawyers will serve as prosecutors or defenders in mock trials based on highly charged cases. A jury of lay people - selected by the contestants - will determine the winner of each trial. Then the losers go on trial - defending their performance before a celebrity "judge," who will decide which individual will be thrown out of court. The last two lawyers standing will go head-to-head to argue a final blockbuster case. With every episode, viewers will be drawn into two dramas - the compelling legal drama of that week's trial, and the suspense of who will ultimately become THE PARTNER.

"American Dad" (9:30pm/8:30pm (c), Sundays - Starts January)
From "Family Guy" creator SETH MacFARLANE, comes this animated story of STAN SMITH (MacFARLANE), who works for the CIA and is constantly on the alert for terrorist activity. Stan will go to extremes to protect his beloved America from harm – as evidenced by the terror-alert color code on his fridge, and his frequent knee-jerk reaction of shooting holes in the toaster whenever the toast pops up. In addition to Stan's wife and teenage children, the Smith household has two rather unconventional members. There's ROGER (MacFARLANE), the sarcastic space alien Stan rescued from Area 51 who deeply resents the fact that he's not allowed to leave the house, and KLAUS (DEE BRADLEY BAKER, "Stripperella," "Johnny Bravo"), a lascivious, German-speaking goldfish – the result of a CIA experiment gone seriously wrong

"K.G. Presents: The Sketch Show" (7pm/6pm (c), Sundays - Starts January)
Following its critically and commercially successful second year in the UK, THE SKETCH SHOW is coming to FOX, imported by KELSEY GRAMMER's Grammnet Productions along with DAN PATTERSON ("Whose Line is it Anyway") and the original producers of the award-winning UK series, Avalon Television Ltd. ("Jerry Springer – The Opera"). Reminiscent of "Laugh In," the series features quick-fire puns, gags and fast-paced sketches, averaging a remarkable 30 vignettes per half-hour. RICHARD BODEN ("Blackadder," "Time Gentlemen Please"), director of the first two seasons in the UK, returns to direct the American cast, who will be joined by original UK cast member LEE MACK ("Dick Whittington"). THE SKETCH SHOW will be shot both in London and Los Angeles.

"Related by Family" (8:30pm/7:30pm (c), Wednesdays - Starts January)
This series from VICTOR FRESCO centers on several teen characters who work and hang out at the mall food court. There is 18-year-old, optimistic-but-not-ambitious LAZ (ZACHARY KNIGHTON, "The Prince and Me"); his 16-year-old angst-ridden and angry stepsister, MOLLY (SAIGE THOMPSON, "10-8: Officers on Duty"); Laz's best friend FRED (CHARLIE FINN, "Super Troopers"); and Laz's new girlfriend LILY (RACHELLE LEFEVRE, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow"). Home base for Laz and Molly is a blended family formed by the marriage of Laz's dad, RICK (MATTHEW GLAVE, "Corky Romano," "The Wedding Singer"), and Molly's mom, MICHELLE (AMY YASBECK, "The Mask"). Rick and Molly love all of their children, but they are particularly obsessed with the only product of their union together: the sweet, perfect and wise 8-year-old GUS (KURT DOSS).

Older Shows:

On the existing show front, after several years of the air this season will see the return of the animated "Family Guy". New seasons are set for "24", "American Idol", "Arrested Development", "King of the Hill", "The Bernie Mac Show", "Malcolm in the Middle", "Cops", "Oliver Beene", "That 70's Show", "The O.C.", "The Simpsons", "The Swan" & "Tru Calling". Like CBS is doing with "Alias", FOX has opted to start "24" in January with an uninterrupted weekly run. Man of the major shows are also now in new timeslots.

Cancelled:
"Boston Public", "Forever Eden", "Luis, "A Minute With Stan Hooper", "The Ortegas", "Paradise Hotel", "Skin", "Still Life", "Wanda at Large", "Wonderfalls "

Doing my best David Spade: "I really liked The Inside... when it was called Alias!"

American Dad sounds really good and I'm shocked at how pleased I am that Family Guy is coming back.

And then there's the return of the Swan. The most despicable show in television history has been renewed. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Fox is the worst television network ever.

I'll still going to watch The Simpsons and King of the Hill and am pleasantly surprised Arrested Developement is coming back.

I want Tru Calling cancelled so there can be a Faith spinoff.:D

Yay New Seasons:

Arrested Development (FOX)
Family Guy (FOX)
Last Comic Standing (NBC) (guilty pleasure)

Nay New Seasons:

One Tree Hill (WB)
The Simple Life (FOX)
TheSwan (FOX)
ANOTHER CSI (CBS)
Enterprise (UPN)
The Apprentice (NBC)

Yay New Shows:

North Shore (FOX)
The Jury (FOX)
American Dad (FOX)
Kelsey Grammer's Sketch Show (FOX)
Summerland (WB)
Drew Carey's Green Screen Show (WB)
Jack And Bobby (WB)
Father Of The Pride (NBC)
The Clubhouse (CBS)
Listen Up (CBS)

Nay New Shows:

Most of NBC's schedule
All of WB's reality crud
Dr. Vegas (CBS)
Savages (ABC)
Method And Red (FOX)
The Partner (FOX)
The Complex: Malibu (FOX)

Undecided New Shows:

The Office (NBC)
Joey (NBC)
The Mountain (WB)
Blue Collar TV (WB)
Athens (FOX)
House (FOX)
Quintuplets (FOX)

The Veredict:

WB: While innovative sketch comedy should make this an interesting season, little change and the removal of fan-fave Angel (which I didn't watch) makes this difficult. Of course, new Everwood's all that really matters. Nay.

ABC: Nothing interesting whatsoever, but the worst I can say is formulaic. Nay.

NBC: With three of NBC's staple shows gone, (Ed, Frasier, Friends) it'll be interesting to see whether new flagship comedies Joey and Father Of The Pride deliver the goods. The rest looks extremely derivative and a new "Office" is an interesting idea but judging by last season's "Coupling" should be a nay. Pending.

CBS: Originality counts, and it's good to Jason Alexander doing new work. The Clubhouse looks like a winner, though it is in a tough Tuesday slot. Pending.

FOX: If the revamp fails, Fox is close to dead. The mainstays should help get things past and the shows look more interesting than the other network's, despite some hideous nays. American Dad, while too similar to Family Guy in concept, should prove an interesting execution. Yay.

UPN: Drivel, as usual, helped in no way by the steadyingly declining quality of flagship Enterprise. Nay.

Oh, and who came up with "Wife Swap"? It sounds eerily like the Chappelle Show skit "Trading Spouses".

Anyways, only new show I'm interested in is that "Global Frequency" show based on Warren Ellis' comic book...

If anyone cares here it is from The Futon Critic...

UPN 2004-2005 PRIMETIME SCHEDULE

MONDAY
8:00-8:30 PM ONE ON ONE
8:30-9:00 PM HALF AND HALF
9:00-9:30 PM GIRLFRIENDS
9:30-10:00 PM SECOND TIME AROUND

TUESDAY

WEDNESDAY

8:00-10:00 PM WWE SMACKDOWN!

FRIDAY
8:00-9:00 PM AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL (R)
9:00-10:00 PM STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE

This is what I think of the networks' fall schedules...

UPN: I might watch One On One now that it's back on Monday, but only because that sexy Kyla Pratt is on there! ;) :p

NBC: Ehh, Father Of The Pride looks lame, it'll most likely get cancelled. And I never watch NBC anyways, so ehh...

CBS: Don't watch this either.

The WB: Reba is alright, I might start watching it again now that it's on at 9, Drew Carey's sketch show looks lame, if you're in the audience all you see is them in from of a green screen and I don't think it'll be funny so I don't think I'll tune in to that, I've never seen that Blue Collar Comedy Movie but I've heard of it (is that it's name?) I might check out the TV show. I might watch Smallville too. :)

ABC: The sitcoms suck and the new ones look lame. The only thing that looks good is Life As We Know It and I'm definetley gonna check that out.

FOX: American Dad I'm gonna check out, but Seth is a liberal and let's just say I don't particuarly like liberals but I'll check it out anyways. The Jury looks good and I'll check that out, ditto for The Inside. Method & Red looks lame but I'll check it out anyways. Kelsey Grammar's Sketch Show...err...Fraiser was always boring whenever I tuned in for 10 minuteso r so, hopefully this is different...though it says it'll be like Laugh-In so that's a little promising... Quintuplets looks lame.

I think that's all...

you know, fox has always found a way to make me want to vomit. I dont have to say the plethora of crap they have put out, or the quality shows they have cancelled. Now I see that The Swan is returning. on top of that, They bring us method and red. As a black man, I feel that this show is completely and totally offensive. I cant beleive that the executives is letting this show pass. Is there not one black FOX executive that could have stopped this. I cant beleive method or red agreed to humiliate themselves on national TV like this. Do they have any shame? (but I guess they will do anything for a dollar these days.) What I am about to say next is not meant to offend any caucasian members of the forum, but I really feel that shows like this, and movies like Soul Plane (shudder) are allowed to pass through and be produced and made, because white executives like the ones at FOX want to see Blacks acting like complete and utter fools. But I will stop right here because this is not the forum for that type of discussion. now back on topic, I think american dad has a good chance, if FOX doesnt treat it like toilet paper and cancell it

Here's some more news...

2004 Broadcast Upfront Presentations Wrap-Up, Part 1
By The Futon Critic Staff

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- While the broadcast upfront presentations have concluded, there's still a bit of news that wasn't covered in the various press releases issued by the networks.

Here's a breakdown of what else occurred during last week's news bonanza as well as clarification of several news items:

-- "Everwood" may be held until November. In order to avoid its troublesome repeat ratings, the WB is said to be considering a plan in which it holds back the drama series' third season until November. "Everwood" would then run for 10 weeks after which it would be replaced by one of the network's potential midseason offerings ("Global Frequency," "Rocky Point" or a second season of "Summerland" should ratings merit) and return in the spring for its remaining 12 installments.

-- It's a no-go on "Transylvania." Despite a hefty put pilot commitment when it was originally announced, NBC has opted not to go forward with the small screen spin-off of the current Universal feature "Van Helsing." The Peacock reportedly put the project on the back burner well before its disappointing turn at the box office due to its potentially high production cost (a pilot was never shot). NBC Universal Television Studios topper Jeff Zucker told Daily Variety: "The box office has no bearing whatsoever on our plans to move forward or not. It's a creative decision based on content and concept. We just want to make sure it has the right network home." Nevertheless, NUTS is said to be talking with other networks about the series however with said box office performance, a revival seems extremely unlikely.

-- UPN will look to expand to six nights starting next year. After several years of sticking with its current five-night-a-week schedule, CBS topper Leslie Moonves confirmed he's hoping to expand the netlet to a six-night schedule saying it's a "good possibility." He wasn't specific on whether the new night will be Saturdays or Sundays.

-- "60 Minutes II" will drop the "II." In order to raise the profile of the "60 Minutes" spin-off, CBS will drop the "II" in the name beginning this fall. "The Roman numeral II created some confusion on the part of the viewers and suggested a watered-down version," CBS News president Andrew Heyward told Daily Variety. At the same time however the two shows will remain editorially independent and "cordially competitive." More importantly now with the official "60 Minutes" stamp, CBS' sales force could potentially sell the show at a higher ad rate. The news coincides with the exit of Don Hewitt as executive producer of the franchise early next month after 36 years at the helm. Current "II" chief Jeff Fager will take over for Hewitt on the parent series with Josh Howard replacing Fager on the Wednesday edition. In addition, fellow newsmagazine "48 Hours Investigates" will now run under the title "48 Hours Mystery." Current host Lesley Stahl is not expected to resume duties on the series with the network opting to go without one. Heyward was clear however that "Mystery" would meet all news standards, with no actors or reenactments.

-- Several changes are in store for ABC's newsmagazines. "World News Tonight" substitute anchor Elizabeth Vargas will succeed Barbara Walters as co-host of "20/20," while Chris Cuomo, the son of former New York governor Mario Cuomo, and British journalist Martin Bashir, best known for the documentary "Living With Michael Jackson," have signed on to "Primetime Live" and "20/20" respectively. Cuomo joins Cynthia McFadden, John Quinones, Diane Sawyer and Charles Gibson as a co-anchor on the Thursday series beginning in September. As for Vargas, she'll co-host alongside John Stossel while Bashir, in a deal valued at $1 million, will serve as a correspondent for the Friday night show. Walters isn't completely leaving ABC however: she'll host at least five prime-time specials a year, including special editions of "20/20," and continue to executive produce and co-host daytime talk show "The View."

-- "The Simpsons" will once again earn a post-Super Bowl berth. The veteran FOX comedy will get another post-Super Bowl airing - the last being in 1999 - after the game ends on February 6, 2005. It's not clear what will follow "The Simpsons" on the night.

-- "The Mountain" may move to Wednesdays. Various industry insiders are saying the WB is mulling shifting its freshman drama "The Mountain" from Thursdays to Wednesdays after "Smallville" upon learning of FOX's plans to relocate "The O.C." to the night. Distributor Warner Bros. Television produces both series, not to mention fellow Thursday newcomer "Joey" on NBC, and is apparently very unhappy with having three of its new entries facing off against each other. Under said scenario, "Blue Collar TV" and "Drew Carey's Green Screen" would be bumped to Thursday nights in place of "The Mountain."

-- The TV series "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment" may be dead, but the franchise is looking to continue. Kennedy is closing in on a deal with Paramount to produce a movie based on the recently canceled series. No other details were given. In the meantime, "JKX" won't exactly disappear from the public consciousness: repeats of all three seasons will begin airing next month on ABC Family and a DVD release of the show's second season is due later this year. Kennedy himself also won't be idling: he's executive producing the WB's midseason comedy "Shacking Up" and is also behind the Frog's upcoming reality entry "Wannabes."

-- "Alias" is set to run repeat-free beginning in January. Aside from pre-emptions due to the Super Bowl and the Oscars, the fourth-year drama is set to run for 20 weeks on the network beginning in January. "Alias" will take over its old Sunday, 9:00/8:00c slot from freshman entry "Desperate Housewives." It's not clear where ABC plans to relocate "Housewives" should it become successful.

-- Tom Spezialy ("The District") has been named the executive producer/showrunner of ABC's "Desperate Housewives." He'll serve alongside current executive producers Mark Cherry, Chuck Pratt and Michael Edelstein. Spezialy's other credits include "Dead Like Me," "Ed" and "Jack & Jill." It's also understood he'll receive a premium script commitment from Touchstone Television for a potential new drama series.

-- The WB has pacted with Mark Burnett for a new midseason reality series. While details were not released, the Frog has given a blind series commitment for a new reality project from the prolific producer, who's also behind the network's only new scripted comedy this fall ("Commando Nanny"). WB chief Jordan Levin told Daily Variety, "We're going to work together to find a franchise idea for a reality show that could become a permanent fixture on our schedule. It's a strong play for us to be in business with Mark Burnett as we play catch-up in a genre we ignored too long."

-- UPN's "America's Next Top Model" and NBC's "The Apprentice" are both set to air two cycles next season. Both reality hits are slated to run for two cycles with "Model" running 26 installments and "Apprentice" a whopping 34 episodes over the course of the 2004-05 season. "Model's" two editions will be sandwiched around the netlet's "Untitled Missy Elliott Project," with encores of the series - including additional original footage - airing on Fridays at 8:00/7:00c. Meanwhile, both cycles of the Donald Trump-hosted series are expected to run back-to-back with encores in the Saturday, 8:00/7:00c slot. The move puts "The Apprentice's" third season finale in mid-April at which point the Peacock is considering restoring its four-comedy block on Thursday nights with the debut of "The Men's Room" and "Crazy for You" alongside "Joey" and "Will & Grace."

-- "24" will open and close with two-hour installments as well as feature a two-hour special event episode in the middle of the season. Said moves are designed so that "24" will be able to run for 21 consecutive weeks beginning in January and close by the end of May sweeps. In addition, several cast changes are in store for the drama. Both Reiko Aylesworth and James Badge Dale have been informed their options for the show's fourth season have not been picked up while Carlos Bernard, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Zachary Quinto and Daniel Dae Kim's futures remain up in the air (Kim is currently attached to the ABC drama "Lost"). As for regulars Kiefer Sutherland, Dennis Haysbert and Elisha Cuthbert, all three are expected to return with Cuthbert more than likely being demoted to recurring status due to her feature commitments. Nevertheless, fans of the series should take note that in previous seasons Sarah Clarke and Penny Johnson Jerald's options weren't picked up however each went on to play critical roles in both this season and last season.

-- While her sitcom may not be going forward, Jessica Simpson and ABC will remain in business. The Alphabet has reportedly committed to eight specials featuring the actress/singer to be run over the next two years.

-- Warner Bros. Television is the studio to beat for the second year in a row. At least 25 shows (10 new, 15 returning) comprising 20.5 hours of programming next season will come from Warner Bros. Television with 20th Century Fox Television being the second most prolific (18 shows - eight new, 10 returning). Splitting third place are Touchstone Television (10.5 hours) and CBS Productions (9.5 hours), with 13 shows each.

-- Don't look for a resolution to "Playing it Straight" or "Forever Eden," not to mention midseason holdovers "Still Life" and "The Ortegas." FOX executives made it clear at its upfront presentation that all four series will be scrapped despite previous indications at least the two reality series would return this summer. As for who actually won each competition, FOX topper Gail Berman told reporters: "We will certainly provide any viewer that needs the information with the information of the conclusion."

-- "Yes, Dear" will return in 2005 with 13 new episodes. After knocking at death's door in the days leading up to CBS' upfront presentation, the veteran comedy will indeed return for an abbreviated fifth season thanks to some last-minute financial concessions by the show's co-producer, 20th Century Fox Television. While exact details weren't discussed, it's understood 20th cut its license fee to snag the renewal. The studio's co-production deal with CBS Productions called for the Eye to take over the entire full-cost license fee for the series should it reach its fifth season. CBS faced a similar situation with "Becker" this past season, ordering 13 episodes of what would be the series' final season. Meanwhile, "Yes, Dear" co-creator Alan Kirschenbaum is also said to be in talks to join the freshman comedy "Center of the Universe" as showrunner/executive producer alongside "Center" co-creators/executive producers Mitchel Katlin and Nat Bernstein. Should the deal go through, Kirschenbaum will serve as a consultant on "Yes, Dear's" fifth season.

-- While not mentioned in its press release, CBS also has midseason commitments out to reality series "Fire Me, Please" and "Search for a Domestic Diva." Both series are said to be targeted for the Saturday, 9:00/8:00c slot once "The Amazing Race" wraps. Each comes from LMNO Productions with the former being a co-production with the BBC. "Fire," based on the British series "The Sack Race," tracks two contestants as they attempt to get fired on purpose from an unspecified corporate job at a specified time (3:00 p.m. in the U.K. original). Contestants however cannot do anything illegal, swear or ask to be fired. The winner is determined by who is "sacked" the closest to said time. "Diva," which was created by Eric Schotz and Bill Paolantonio, as you might guess deals with a primetime search to find the next diva of domesticity. CBS is hoping both series, along with "Race," will help increase the Eye's current fourth place finish in adults 18-49 on Saturday nights. In addition to the trio, the game show "Liar" and possible summer holdover "The Will" are being considered for the night.

-- "Two and a Half Men's" Chuck Lorre is expected to sign a new overall deal with Warner Bros. Television. With Warner Bros.' "Men" being the most-watched new comedy this season and Lorre also behind a new Jenna Elfman project at the studio targeted for midseason on CBS, Warner Bros. will more than likely re-sign the prolific writer/producer to a new overall deal. Lorre's previous $30 million, multi-year pact with Warner Bros. expires this year. It's understood Lorre will co-write the pilot for Elfman's show and oversee its production however he won't showrun the new project, instead opting to stick with his showrunner duties on "Men."

Moving Enterprise to Friday nights is both stupid and smart. Stupid because the original Star Trek was cancelled once it was moved to Fridays, smart because Enterprise will only have to do marginally better in UPN's death slot than all the other dreck before it. It's odds of surviving to a fifth season are 50/50.

I will be watching in some capacity: North Shore, The O.C., Smallville, Alias, 24, Lost, Summerland (if it makes it, just for something to do on Tuesday nights), CSI, and probably Listen Up.

Season 6 of Total Drama (production code-wise), Pahkitew Island, made its American debut a decade ago.

It's my favorite season of the show (behind all 3 of Total Dramarama's) and has the best cast of the series, which includes the 2 best characters of the franchise, Leonard and Max (who should've been the finalists).

Happy 10 year anniversary to The 7D.

I wonder what cartoons Caitlin Clark likes
Xilam is one of my most favourite animation studios, I enjoy alot of their cartoons from Hubert and Takako, Oggy and the Cockroaches and Zig and Sharko. Xilam is a studio that has inspired many and has created endless classics that we enjoy.

What's your most fond memory of Xilam?
Given how Drew Barrymore's production company Flower Films has mainly made live action projects for older audiences, them producing the TV special Olive The Other Reindeer and the Netflix preschool show Princess Power are definitely quite unusual. It would certainly explain the humor of the latter.
