Character Count in Young Justice Season 4: Phantoms

Continuing on from the past three threads for season 1, season 2 (Invasion), and season 3 (Outsiders), here is the thread to compile the appearances of new DC characters in season 4 (Phantoms). As a recap, season 1 had 179 total and season 2 had 62 bringing that to 241. We don't know if Greg Weisman counts the comics in this 241 number so we have a different designation for them. Weisman has not stated the total number in Outsiders or Phantoms. The previous thread ended in 366 characters, and I will be starting at 367 because Genghis Khan's sons were later revealed to be based on real life figures rather than DC characters.

In Beast Boy's photo, it appears the Outsiders have five new members: Lia Briggs is now Looker, Livewire, Wendy Jones is now Windfall, Courtney Whitmore is now Stargirl, and Robin (Tim).

In the end credits, Perdita's surname is revealed to be Vladek. It appears to be a coincidence "Vladek" was the name of a bar in Little Vlatava in New York City in a Manhunter #7.

Saturn Girl, Phantom Girl, and Chameleon Boy speak for the first time in the series.

Episode 4 "Involuntary" was sparse aside from K'arr M'angg, based on an obscure 70s Martian villain Karmang the Evil who appeared in All-New Collectors' Edition #C-58 (1978).

Onyx makes her debut on the series.

Talia al Ghul has her first speaking lines, voiced by Zehra Fazal like in the DC Showcase short, Batman: Death in the Family.

Mist appears to be a member of the Team.

Debut of Royal University.

Red Arrow refers to Green Arrow's weapon cache as The Vault (rather than Arrowcave)

Onyx mentions Killer Croc.

Terra's words are a play on Scandal Savage.

Spoiler mentions her father Cluemaster.

Barbara mentions the Penguin. (She also mentions Two-Face, but he already appeared, he had a cameo in the 2011 Free Comic Book Day story "Face Your Fears" and Batman and Robin [Tim] investigated his apartment in #23 of the comic)

Barbara mentions "Jason." This is first mention of Jason Todd's name in the series. (Although his full name was mentioned in Robin's bio for Young Justice: Legacy)

Martian Manhunter calls Hawkwoman by her first name "Shayera," the first time it is said in the series. Her last name "Thal" was mentioned last season in episode 3x14 "Influence".

Nightwing hails A33 for a medivac.

So she's gonna probably be the go-to this season.

The classic demon jekyll/hyde of the DCU finally makes his debut .

I wonder if Bourassa was still involved if his design would've been more of a direct rip from the DCAMU ?

I guess it makes sense Arion would show up since the show went for "Orin" with Aquaman .

Merlin is mentioned by Etrigan.

12/16: Episode 11 "Teg Ydaer!"

New characters include Jane Nassour, Muhammed Nassour, Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, Mercury, and I suppose Sergeant Marvel might be included in the count.

Of note, Jane Nassour's first name in the comics is Elizabeth. And in the credits, Mary's alter ego is listed as Sergeant.

Eric Lopez takes over as the voice of Billy Batson.

Eric Lopez takes over as the voice of Billy Batson.

I think it's just as Billy as that age as we saw or that Mary remembered since Chad Lowe was playing older Billy in season 3. Although I feel Lopez is a much better Jaime than he is Billy...

Charlie Daggett was a bus driver from Superboy #137 (April 1967) and Penny Randall was from Teen Titans #2 (April 1966).

Johnny Drew is an obscure 70s Supergirl/Adventure Comics character. Johnny was a cameraman working for KSFTV, a subsidiary of Galaxy Communications in San Francisco where Supergirl worked in her civilian identity of Linda Danvers.

It was nice to see Sindella make an on-screen appearance and not abandon her daughter...I had other issues with her use, but still, something .

Yup. Both Faust and Blackbriar were far better lit in their cameo in this episode, lol, compared to their appearances in Misplaced.
