From the front page of AnimeSuperhero.com:

"First Episode of “Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc” to Get Theatrical Release"

demon-slayer-e1706233832201.webp

"It has been an almost annual tradition for Demon Slayer content to get a theatrical release since the first movie grossed over five hundred million dollars worldwide. This year, we are getting another season premiere with a theatrical release. The premiere of the fourth season, the Hashira Training Arc, will be streaming this February and begin screening in various countries. As with season three, the premiere will be a double-length episode.

In addition to the main theatrical screenings, season 4 will have “World Tour” in major cities across the globe. A few of these screenings will include cast and crew members of the show."

Anyone here able to attend these theatrical screenings?!?

Mr. AJ Cosplay from Anime News Network has seen the theatrical screening of the first episode of the Hashira Training Arc. He says it was all talk and no action, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Hashira Training Red Carpet Premiere Report. Considering this is a theatrical release, I am kind of surprised there isn't some sort of big screen scene showpiece like last season's scene at Muzan's Infinity Castle. Even if this is a slow arc, adding an anime original scene was kinda what I expected. The action scenes are still the reason to watch Demon Slayer and a season without them seems unexciting. MHA season 7 is probably higher on my hype list for 2024.

It's the third season, by now, it should be known the first episodes of a new season of Demon Slayer has little to no action. That's why the end of the previous season was included. lol.

That's why it seems like a weird choice to have these theatrical premieres of the first episode as they don't seem to be suited for the theatrical experience, but it seems to be making loads of money for Ufotable anyway because people seem to be hungry for Demon Slayer even in the slow episodes.

The News Team's PicardMan has a new review on the front page of AnimeSuperhero.com:

"Review: “Demon Slayer: To the Hashira Training”: A Middling Television Episode in a Movie Theater"

GIPFqfCWkAAZbM1-1-scaled-e1709995645762-696x392-1.jpeg

"For the second time, a Demon Slayer season premiere debuted in a movie theater rather than the small screen. This time around it was the premiere of a training arc, which does not seem quite cinematic enough to work as a theatrical release. Anime studio “Ufotable” knew that the fans wanted action and an anime-exclusive scene that wasn’t in the manga was added to fulfil this quota. The episode begins with the snake and wind hashira slicing up demons and providing the silver screen spectacle you’d expect from Demon Slayer. After the action sequence, Demon Slayer goes back into it’s usual wacky hijinks.

Despite how gory and violent this series is, it has surprisingly been significantly lighter than its battle shonen contemporaries. Whether you consider Zenitsu the Jar Jar of anime or a misunderstood character who deserves respect, your mind won’t be changed. Anyway, I have always found the not really funny comedy just something you have to endure to get to the great Ufotable action scenes. As the title of the arc, “The Hashira Training arc” implies, we end the episode seeing random extras go through training from hell with the implication that our main characters have to endure that. For an hour-long premiere, hardly anything happened except for one major reveal (major spoilers next paragraph)."

"Demon Slayer Season 3 Premieres Soon, Trailer Now Live"

hashiraarc.jpg

"It’s not easy being Tanjiro, the central character of popular shonen Demon Slayer. Last arc, he thought he’d get a welcome break by visiting the carefree Entertainment District, but within a matter of days he was fighting for his life against high-level demons Daki and Gyutaro. They nearly killed him and all his friends off, but he somehow managed to deliver the finishing blow and behead them. So NOW it’s time to rest, right?

Think again! After performing so badly, the gang feels they need more training — plus, Tanjiro broke his sword in the last battle and needs to forget a new one. Thus begins what was called the Swordsmith Village Arc in the manga and is called the Hashira Training Arc here."

Ha, a flashy eyepatch. :D Looking forward to the Hashira getting more screen time but got a feeling Giyu might decline and leave, lol.
