I've always thought they should have a free (ad-supported) tier. Most of the content would still be there, but when it comes to their original shows, only the first season would be available. That way, if someone previews that season and likes it, it would motivate them to subscribe to the higher tier to get the rest of the seasons.

Problem is they cancel stuff so quickly (based on their secret metrics), A series of 2 or 3 seasons may not be enticing at this point. Unless it's stuff they inherited from someplace else like Cobra Kai or Manifest.

The only places ads belong are in sports and live TV.

Netflix reported 220.67 million total global subs, after losing almost 1 million for the three months. Disney is at 221.1M.
