I remember when my area didn't get Cartoon Network until 99-2000, and I was in second grade. That morning our whole class was raving about the channel and the shows.

"Oh my god, I got to watch Powerpuff Girls last night!"
"Yeah, me too! Buttercup is awesome! And that monkey is so stupid!"
"NO, did you watch Dexter's Laboratory!?"
"The show with the smart kid with the annoying sister?"
"Yeah! Isn't it cool!? I wish I had a lab like that...well, I wish I was smart like that."
"Hey, what are you guys talkin about?"
"Cartoon Network! The new channel we got yesterday!"
"Oh cool, what channel?"
"29 for me."
"Yeah, me too."
"Oh sweeeet!"

Yup...in 2nd grade, cartoons were SERIOUS business. We also held Pokemon vs. Digimon battles at recess. And I was team Digimon :D

I used to have CN somewhere in the forties, but hen it switched channel 32, where it stays to this day (on iO Cable).

If you have any old CN recordings, feel free to put them on YouTube. Share the wealth and memories!

Sorry, but I'm more of a Powerhouse (1997-2004) person.

Yeah, I get it and there's nothing wrong with that. Powerhouse was very good too, I liked it. It's just that finding 1992-1997 material is very hard and rare these days. Either people have it and don't want to share it or if they do, they don't know how :( On the other hand with Powerhouse... YouTube is full of it.

Yo folks, you should check this one out:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4lkMKTn8Y4

It's a pitch/promo for Cartoon Network Europe from 1997 and it is in Danish.

That really doesn't matter as it is over 4 minutes long and shows alot of old stuff including bumpers!

Anyone know that music in the background? I wish we could get this promo in English, it's epic!

I just watched Yogi's All-Star Christmas Caper, which I used to watch all the time back when it came on.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I went through the only cartoon network 90's tape I have and posted promos on youtube. Sorry if these have been posted before. The tape I figured was from June of 1999 because I saw a commercial for Tarzan coming out Friday.

This first one has a mix of Scooby Doo, CCF, Toonami Midnight Run, Super Chunk of Droopy, Land Before Time IV, A Pup Named Scooby Doo, Bugs and Daffy, Tom and Jerry, The Flintstones, Ed, Edd n Eddy and Cow and Chicken.

Great find! 1999 was the last year I recall watching CN on a regular basis.

Wow, haven't been on this thread in a while. Anyways, 90sCartoonNetwork recently just upload a 3-part recording of "Cartoon Network's Funniest Bloopers and Other Embarrassing Moments", which I assume aired in the summer of 2003, due to the Summer Fridays intro appearing in the first part. Now, I don't remember this, but I'm sure some of you do.

Here are all the parts:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

In the now, man
Heh, I remember watching this, or at least the first part of it, which I watched earlier. I have the other two saved for later, but I remember that I didn't finish the whole thing since I had to go eat dinner or something right then.

I'll watch the rest later though.

A YT'er called "Retroboy85" has recently posted what's some of the earliest CN footage out there on the 'net, with lots of 1993 stuff (albeit in Spanish). Seeing as CN wasn't in many people's households until at least the mid-to-late '90's, its really hard to come by. Here's a taste:

Oh, and uh, Happy 6th Anniversary thread! :p

Season 6 of Total Drama (production code-wise), Pahkitew Island, made its American debut a decade ago.

It's my favorite season of the show (behind all 3 of Total Dramarama's) and has the best cast of the series, which includes the 2 best characters of the franchise, Leonard and Max (who should've been the finalists).

Happy 10 year anniversary to The 7D.

I wonder what cartoons Caitlin Clark likes
Xilam is one of my most favourite animation studios, I enjoy alot of their cartoons from Hubert and Takako, Oggy and the Cockroaches and Zig and Sharko. Xilam is a studio that has inspired many and has created endless classics that we enjoy.

What's your most fond memory of Xilam?
Given how Drew Barrymore's production company Flower Films has mainly made live action projects for older audiences, them producing the TV special Olive The Other Reindeer and the Netflix preschool show Princess Power are definitely quite unusual. It would certainly explain the humor of the latter.
