While I agree with you, it doesn't apply for other characters. Like Vegeta; despite being an alien, he sounds normal. And what about Krillin, he keeps the same high-pitched voice throughout the show too and he's just a human?

It actually is, you just have abnormally high expectations that just can't ever be met. In terms of faithfulness, the Kai dub is fantastic and FUNi has gone a long way since their original Z dub. Obviously unless if an anime is in Japanese and subbed, you won't ever be completely satisfied. Why...

But as far as I know, those lyrics were made up and weren't literal translations either. Same goes for FUNi's Dragon Ball opening, but not GT. GT's opening was faithfully translated.

He's right though. People do nitpick over the most ridiculous things and those people also take the cartoon way too seriously. If you can't accept and live with those things that are "inaccurate" then just don't watch it. We get it if you don't like it; you've said it a million times.

You seem to forget how much it costs to dub one episode. It's about $150,000, last I heard.

FUNi always releases their stuff uncut and the only time I can think of them not including the Japanese audio (for the most part) was their Shin Chan release, but they had their reasons.

I too grew up with Stephanie's voice as Goku and Gohan. It's going to be seriously weird hearing Colleen as Gohan in Kai, but oh well, I guess they have their reasons. As much as I'm going to miss Stephanie, I'm still going to support the releases because I'm a big fan of FUNi's work on Dragon...

Just saw episode 14 of DBZA. Pretty good episode, but it was weaker than the last. Maybe because this one lacked Vegeta? But still, it was better than episodes 11 and 12, though. I really liked the space duck joke, the kitchen/sandwich jokes, and the "both ways" joke. :p

Wow. Yeah, I didn't expect this. All I can say is if the edits aren't over-the top, they should put One Piece on the block too. I'd watch FUNi's dub if it was edited (even if it's edited more than what it was on CN) because it needs TV exposure. I doubt that'll happen though seeing as 4Kids...

Agreed. And the clips posted on Nicktoons' site used the original music. Besides, on Facebook, I didn't see where Sean said that Bruce's music is going to be used. He just said the music for Kai is awesome.

The Bardock edits weren't even noticeable. But the beer edit was quite obvious. But it's not worth complaining about. And why do some of you seem shocked or annoyed that they edited it? It's beer. You know they were going to edit that out. The only problem is that it's half-assed. Oh well...

I grew up with those terms so they never really bothered me in the first place. I'm grateful for the uncut version on DVD but I also really want to support the TV broadcast.

Sorry, but because of this I have to say your whole argument is invalid. You criticized the One Piece dub for something the Dragon Ball dub is guilty of thousands and thousands of times over. Have you even watched it in Japanese? While I like the dub myself, there are many things wrong with it...

I've been a Sonic fan since I was three, and I still am a fan, so I've seen enough of this series to say that it's... meh, mediocre. Both the original and dub... The dub is actually one of 4Kids' best, so I don't understand why people act like it's their worst and they don't even mention 4Kids'...

This. But Zach's right, it's a comic and cartoon, and it just seems 'unhealthy' to take it so seriously... Especially over spelling. No offense... But adding those accent marks and being so "perfect" makes you come off as a stuck-up goody two-shoes that thinks they're right and everyone else...
